Bio

I grew up in North Haven, Connecticut, playing soccer and the violin in my free time. In addition to reading everything Stephen King, I always loved a good horror flick. My older brother Jon and I spent countless nights watching movies I would never allow my own daughter to watch today. (That is, when we weren’t watching The Empire Strikes Back or Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on repeat). I was a major science and math geek, and wavered between studying English or Physics after graduating from North Haven High School. Ultimately, I channeled my inner nerd and went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 1997 with a math degree and my eye on Wall Street. I became a mortgage-backed securities trader for Bank of America and then Deutsche Bank, where I would eventually manage the Agency MBS trading desk and its thirty traders. Through it all, I never stopped reading. During a run of twenty-two root-canals in 2015 that relegated me to the dentist’s chair for countless hours or home in pain, I started writing The Initiation. In 2016, while halfway through writing The Expedition, I left Wall Street to focus exclusively on writing. I now live on the east end of Long Island with my wife Michelle, our daughter Lily, and our Great Dane Buddy. My debut YA dystopian thriller, The Initiation, was published in Feb 2018 by Permuted Press. The sequel, The Expedition, came out Dec 4th, 2018, and the final book in the trilogy, The Insurrection, is out Feb 18th, 2020.
